A bottomless, primeval patina of grey dirt adorns this remnant of the early Mint. The surfaces and toning are unquestionably original. I’m nearly certain the coin never saw circulation. Mint luster is complete though camouflaged by the toning. Tim acquired the coin from Alpine Numismatics in May 1994. It remains in its green labeled PCGS capsule. Only the CAC sticker is new.
