There were 27 bids on this 1808 when it appeared last year in MB 56 (lot 42), more than any other coin in the auction. Lance prevailed at $5,896. Here is a truly stunning 1808. The consignor acquired it decades ago, before grading services were born. I sent it to CAC, expecting a gold sticker to be its reward. No matter. The glorious toning speaks for itself. The surfaces and luster are a delight. This is an original coin, essentially without faults. Once again we anticipate runaway bidding.
