The parade of beautifully toned coins continues. Here is a virtual twin to the preceding 1812 O.105a, with a bit of friction on the high points. The toning and eye appeal are off the charts. The small 8s overdate (O.102) is decidedly more difficult to locate in high grade than those with large 8s (O.101 and O.103). This coin last appeared in Heritage’s January 2013 FUN Show auction, lot 4285, bringing $2,585 – without a CAC sticker!
