From the collection of Keith Davignon. The semi-prooflike surfaces drew Keith to this coin when he acquired it by private treaty. Fully struck devices and the absence of clash marks suggest that the coin was one of the first struck from the O.114 die pair. A gloss of pale gold toning further enhances the eye appeal. I note that the reverse is rotated 15° counterclockwise. Est. $2,800 to $3,200.
