1823 Patched 3 - O.101a R.1 PCGS AU 58

Spectacular bands of iridescent album toning frame the brilliant centers. The reverse luster is particularly intense. If your preferences lie with toned bust halves this is your cup of tea! The visual appeal is tip-top. The PCGS price guide suggests $6,000 as the going rate for this Red Book variety in AU 58. Generous? Maybe not. I find no auction record for this important coin. Estimate: $4,000 and up.
