Ex Keith Davignon An old friend that made its first appearance in my auctions in an NGC MS 62 holder. (January 1996, MB 16, lot 172.) Keith Davignon consigned it to MB 45 in August 2017 where it brought $1,768 as PCGS AU 58. It is a challenge to find wear on this sensational “AU 58.” The surfaces are ablaze with luster. The obverse mimics a painter’s palette—splashes of vibrant colors sweep across the pristine surfaces. The colorful and more evenly toned reverse is equally captivating. Treat the coin as Mint State and you will be in the hunt. Estimate: $1,400 to $1,750.
