A beautifully impressed, original half-dollar. Caky luster rolls beneath a protective grey dirt patina. Ejected from the coining chamber of a screw press nearly 200 years ago, the coin has miraculously avoided any effort to “improve” its appearance. Kudos to its stewards. Estimate: $2,000 to $2,500.
